PUBG Corp has been in the works for several years now to expand upon the game’s universe. The game is expected to release on all modern consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S), PC & Mobile. He originally said it would, but later rescinded his claim in a separate tweet. Alongside this release is a planned PC & console release by 2022 of another PUBG-related game.
However, in a recent interview with Bloomberg, it was revealed that a new mobile battle royale title is slated for 2021. The exact release date for the game is unknown. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds currently runs on Unreal Engine 4 as well. The game will most likely be on Unreal Engine 4, as several Project XTRM job listings from PUBG corp request Unreal Engine 4 experience. The mobile, PC, and console version is expected to be published by Tencent games. The new sequel will also include a “mobile edition”, just like its successful predecessor. The secret #ProjectXTRM thing from last yr was a PUBGM2 all along.
#PUBG just confirmed that they're working on PUBG 2.0 and PUBG Mobile 2.0
