I'm just brainstorming here because I'm a mesh and texture kind of guy, I have no experience writing scripts and wouldn't know where to start. EHH okay like uhh, 'Coal(?)' from Winterhold. The 'resources' could also be real merchandise like 'Metal' from Markarth, 'Fish' from Riften, 'Wood' from Falkreath, 'Crops' from Whiterun, 'Gems' from Dawnstar, 'Fabrics' from Solitude, 'Pelts' from Windhelm and nothing from Winterhold because nobody likes Winterhold. I could purchase 'Markarth resources' from the merchant in Markarth for 50 coin and sell it to the merchant in Whiterun for 80 coin or to the merchant in Riften for 100 coin. So the easiest way, I think, to do this would be to just have a custom merchant in every city that sells literally 'resources.' Like Markarth would have 'Markarth resources' (that what the item would literally be called, for simplicity).
The farther the towns are from each other, the more it's worth. Then I can travel to another town and it would be worth MORE than the price I purchased it for.
So my idea was to do a sort of Silk Road Online style of trade.īasically I could go to one town and purchase 'goods' that can only be acquired in that specific town. Skyrim is all about role playing but I find it hard to roleplay as a merchant because it gets boring pretty fast.
